I want to know how high a water nozzle will shoot given a certain pressure?
Richard W asked:
Im trying to make a water shooter for a small water show. im planning on using a scuba tank with a first stage regulator to fill an air accumulator to a certain pressure and then venting it into a water filled manifold made of sch40 pvc with a 2 inch diameter this will all be driven out of a reducer nozzel that reduces the diameter down to 1/4 inch. my question is how much air presur wil it take to achieve different heights on the fountain

Bernoulli’s equation.
dgh + (dv^2)/2 + P = constant
where d=density (of water, in this case 1000 kgm^-3)
g=accelleration due to gravity (about 9.8 ms^-2)
h=height
v=velocity
P=preasure
